Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Facial, with Microneedling

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a regenerative treatment that uses a concentrated portion of your own blood to support skin renewal and overall tissue health (AAD; Asubiaro et al., 2024). The treatment begins with a small blood draw, which is then spun in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet-rich portion of the plasma. That platelet-rich plasma contains growth factors and signaling proteins involved in the body’s natural repair process, which is why PRP is often used in aesthetic medicine to support collagen production, improve skin quality, and encourage a fresher, healthier appearance over time (Asubiaro et al., 2024; White et al., 2021). Rather than creating a filled or dramatically altered look, PRP is typically chosen for patients who want a more natural, regenerative approach to rejuvenation. It may be used to improve skin tone, texture, fine lines, crepey skin, acne scarring, and overall skin vitality, and it is also commonly paired with treatments like microneedling to enhance the skin’s response and recovery (Phoebe et al., 2024; Aust et al., 2018). At Juniper, PRP fits beautifully within a more natural approach to aesthetics because it works with your body’s own biologic material to support smoother, healthier, more refreshed-looking skin in a way that feels subtle and refined.

Why Patients Choose PRP

PRP is often appealing to patients who want improvement in skin quality without adding traditional filler or changing the character of their face. It is commonly used when the goal is smoother texture, softer fine lines, more even tone, improved radiance, and a healthier overall look and feel to the skin (Phoebe et al., 2024; Xiao et al., 2021). Because it is created from your own blood, PRP is often seen as a more biologic treatment option within aesthetic care, especially for patients who are drawn to regeneration, collagen support, and gradual, natural-looking improvement (Asubiaro et al., 2024).

How We Think About It at Juniper

PRP is best understood as a regenerative treatment rather than a traditional volumizing treatment. Its strength is in supporting the quality of the skin itself: helping tissue look smoother, healthier, and more refreshed over time rather than creating a more obvious “done” result (AAD; Alam et al., 2018). For the right patient, it can be a beautiful standalone option or part of a broader treatment plan focused on natural rejuvenation, texture refinement, and quietly polished results.
